Background
The East London suffers from higher than average unemployment. For example Tower Hamlets has an unemployment rate of 12.3% over double the national average of 5.0%. The vending industry has experienced enormous growth over last 10 years and is crying out for suitably qualified staff particularly in and around the City of London, which shares a border with Tower Hamlets.

QSA's response
The Vending Training School provides two intensive courses for operators and engineers through our training provider Parker Mace. These courses are designed to form a link between the need of the vending industry and the needs of unemployed people in East London.

80% of our graduates get a job after completing either course. This exceptional achievement is testimony to the fact that courses and our trainers are effective.

The courses are based at Bethnal Green Training Centre and reasonable travel costs within London are reimbursed to our trainees. Cr�che facilities and other course are also available.

The Vending Training School in numbers:

* 80% of our trainees get jobs straight away.

* A total of 400 unemployed people have got jobs after completing our courses since 1996.

* Two of the first female engineers in vending have gone through The Vending Training School, both coming top of their class.
